Dr Richard Smith, MSc, DPsych, CPsychol

Details

Dr Smith is a Chartered Psychologist and has a doctorate in Counselling Psychology. He also holds a BSc in Psychology attained at Lancaster University and MSc in Occupational Psychology attained at Cranfield University. He is an associate member of the British Psychological Society and is registered with the HCPC.

His preferred modalities are cognitive and existential psychotherapeutic models.

Dr Smith founded the LPC and has worked in Community Mental Health Teams (NHS) as a highly specialised Chartered Counselling Psychologist. He works with severe, complex and enduring mental health presentations. This includes bi-polar affective disorder, OCD, personality disorders, psychotic illnesses, PTSD, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, relational difficulties, and phobias.

In addition to being a specialist in mental health his masters degree training in Occupational Psychology and extensive experience within Human Resources across some medium to large businesses enables him to offer expert advice in organisational and executive well-being, team building, career guidance, personality profiling, executive coaching and confidence and resilience and building.
