Psychological Assessments

At the London Psychologist Clinic our psychologists use a number of different methods to gather the personal information that is used to compile an individual's psychological report. A number of norm registered psychological tests are used alongside a structured clinical interview to gather up to date information about the patient. Prior medical notes are also examined to try to establish patterns of behaviour or discrepancies in diagnoses. Psychological assessments are carried out by trained evaluators who are educated to doctoral level and members of the British Psychological Society.

The Benefits of Psychological Assessments

The results of a psychological assessment can be used to help you gain a greater insight into any unhelpful thinking habits and behaviours that you may have. These results can also help your psychologist focus specifically on these areas of potential weakness in therapy sessions. Helpful psychological strategies can then be devised early in the therapy process to assist an individual suffering from mental distress. Targeted therapy can result in faster and more beneficial therapy results and in the long run the financial burden of therapy can also be reduced if an individual's mental health susceptibilities are known from the outset.

Psychological Testing Provides:
Increased accuracy of diagnoses
Understanding of problematic behaviours
Treatment plans focusing on clients strengths
Targeted treatment planning
Focuses attention on the developmental abilities of clients
Highlights areas where additional support is required
