Our Approach

We are Different

We are based in the world famous Harley Street and pride ourselves on excellence in psychotherapy and assessments.

The first thing you will find at the London Psychologist Clinic is that we take time to establish what we call "a psychological formulation" and diagnosis where appropriate or required. In simple terms, establishing a formulation is basically establishing a reliable psychological explanation as to the causes and ongoing maintenance factors that have contributed to your presenting difficulties. We often refer to the 4 P's model which aims to identify predisposing , precipitating, perpetuating and prognostic factors. The last of which focuses on your strengths. An accurate formulation will then help us build the right treatment plan for you. We pride ourselves on transparency and will always give you a solid rationale for the psychological work we recommend and a good idea of what to expect.

At the London Psychologist Clinic, there is several levels of service, starting from individual face to face therapy to an outreach service where we can provide 24/7 care involving other clinicians to provide 360 degrees of service, even involving an live-in therapist.

We are all Chartered Psychologists and hold doctoral level qualifications and 5 years plus post qualification experience as a minimum requirement. We use established, well-researched treatment approaches and often take before and after measures to monitor the effectiveness of the interventions.

Your Treatment

The length of therapy on offer varies depending on the type of problem or diagnosis. It also depends on the severity and duration of the difficulties experienced. For anxiety disorders e.g. OCD, phobias, social anxiety the treatment can go from 6-20 sessions. For longer standing disorders that may be diagnosed as personality disorders, the duration can be longer, going on for 1-2 years. An estimate of the number of sessions that is likely to be required will be given after an initial assessment.

In short we believe in a collaborative approach, that is transparent and tailored to you. We also work with consultant psychiatrists and can offer assessments for medication reviews.
