Based in Bloomsbury, the London Psychologist Clinic provides excellence in evidence-based psychological help for individuals experiencing psychological distress to those who wish to fulfil their full potential.
Founded by Chartered Psychologist Dr Richard Smith, Psy.D, CPsychol, we pride ourselves on treating every person that seeks help as individuals. Dr Smith works in NHS secondary care services, treating complex and enduring mental health problems. He holds a doctorate in Counselling Psychology and a masters degree in Occupational Psychology. He has featured in the media on LBC radio and is a leading expert in sleep and existential dreamwork. His primary mode is integrative, drawing from cognitive behavioural and existential psychotherapies.
We provide initial consultations and treatments for a wide variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, traumatic stress (PTSD), phobias, Aspergers Syndrome, addictions and relationship difficulties. We accept self-referrals and those associated with private medical insurance. Our core values are being transparent, collaborating closely with your needs and adhering to approaches known to work. We have strong links with other healthcare professionals e.g. GPs and other psychiatrists, this ensures we can monitor your mental health from a holistic perspective.
As a clinic, our ethos is based on painstaking efforts to fully understand and put together detailed formulations and goal based treatment plans. We go that extra mile to ensure you receive a compassionate, empathetic and effective intervention from one of our highly experienced and qualified clinicians.
We also offer clinical supervision for psychologists and psychotherapists in training and in running their practice.
We accept self-referrals and are registered with a range of private medical insurance organisations (Cigna, PruHealth, Standard Life, AVIVA (Vitality Health), AXA PPP, BUPA International). Please ask if you feel you might be covered under an existing policy.
